Park Entry Fee: It's complicated! But will make your park entry simpler!!

Here's how it works!
Michigan Registered vehicles can purchase their entrance permit (now called “Recreation Passport”) when they renew their plates with the Secretary of State. The annual rate has decreased from $24.00 to $10.00. The renewal notice will ask you to check “yes” if you would like to support State Parks for $10.00. You won’t receive a sticker for the window. The month tab that goes on the license plate will have a “P” on it and the registration will say “Recreation Passport”.

We will no longer sell $6.00 daily permits. If you fail to purchase through the Secretary of State or you haven’t received your renewal notice then you can purchase the annual permit for $10.00 at the park. The Recreation Passport is valid for 1 year (based on your plate renewal date) and allows entrance into ALL Michigan State Parks, Recreation Areas and Boating Access Sites (administered by the state).

Out of State registered vehicles will be handled the same way as previous years and the prices are the same as last year ($29.00 for annual, $8.00 for daily). The change only affects Michigan registered vehicles.
